Roy, I understand your mom well, I also find it delightful to see my children's pale soles getting black in the city or muddy in the field, telling stories of the fun they had. I don't understand the parents who reprimand their children for getting dirty feet. Bare soles are meant to touch the ground and get dirty, that's nothing to be ashamed of!
Looks you have a wonderful mother who understands barefoot activity is good for you.
