Looks like it's quite common for kids of a certain age to enjoy getting black feet ... it's also my daughter's response if she notices somebody staring at her to lift up a foot and show off her dirty sole as if to say "yes that's what a happy healthy child's foot is supposed to look like".

At home, it's a reminder of all the fun they had while playing outside. If it can't be scrubbed off in the shower it won't come off on the couch or bed either so it's of course no problem. Yes that's another difference we noticed when comparing our feet.
