Hello, Lucy

Welcome. My three children are barefoot enthusiasts, they love to live barefoot in every situation and are so happy to get rid of all footwear after the winter. For shorter periods of time they even went barefoot in the winter so they didn't really take a break this year. No frost damage though, they're reasonable enough to approach their limits with caution. And while they're happy to convince their friends to try going barefoot too they understand it might not be for everybody. We just told them they could be barefoot wherever they enjoy it and they all decided that would be "everywhere". It's not important that children turn out as their parents wish them to be, but it matters that they are able and encouraged to find their own way in life. Going barefoot is certainly a part of it, it makes childhood richer and more eventful and is also a way of doing your own thing rather than following the crowd.

Now on a platform that doesn't require any identification to post, there are some "parenting" forums where I get the impression people don't care about their children (if they have children at all) but are all about their dubious kinks and personal ego power trips. In many of these contributions I actually hope they are fake, invented stories and no actual children had to suffer. So congratulations to you for raising your children without hurting them, and for taking care of their special needs.

Welcome and have fun!
