Like you I initially started out with a bare feet in the house rule and we had a shoe basket and a sock basket by the door. Then they all just naturally pushed their limits and went outside barefoot then the parks and shops until I had to then have a rule wipe your feet before you come in. I even have had them wash their feet with the hose pipe before now.

Like tiptoe said I encouraged this by giving them praise on how tough their soles were and how straight their toes are.

I was once talking to another parent who actually required her daughters to be barefoot from the 1st April until the first snow day!
