Subject: Funny how things work out

Today I felt Siena had the game in the bag. Marist at home after a big win at Fairfield. Right?

Unfortunately, I was more concerned about my Hawks. They had lost a tough game they should have won against Rhode Island the last time the two teams met. But more importantly, Delonte West the second best player on the team, the guy ESPN has nominated as the best supporting player on his team to Jameer Nelson has been suspended indefinitely for an alteraction at a team practice.

Game started slow, but eventually the Hawks got rolling and took care of business without their second best player. The key to success was the consistent normal play by everyone on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.

Phil Martelli coached a great game. Once the Hawks get a lead forget it they don't give it up.

Hawks will play NOVA on ESPN2 Monday night. Delonte West will sit as well the starting center Alex Sazanov but somehow Phil and the staff will have a game plan to take care of business. Should be a great on at the Palestra. JACK are you coming?
