Unlike the IDE details which were accidentally reversed by the TAKKY site, you're saying that if I followed the pin layout as described in his diagram (red wire for pin 1) then by passing the SCSI flat wire under the m/b connector, then through the hole where it will connect perfectly and in the right direction to my hard disk. In other words , I will not have to twist the cable in order to make the proper connection to my hd.

Then If my directions were correct, then my crimping of the SCSI at the m/b leaves much to be desired. Is there a site that shows how to correctly crimp that cable to all those 50 pins. I've done it slowly by squeezing with a dull knife or screwdriver to make sure that that the cable is flat in front of the pins, between the pins & behind the pins. It was long & painstaking but is there another way? I have tried to use my continuity tester but does one have to do that each time?
