I think I figured out the problem.

From what I read, it seemed like I had a software problem based on QuickTime.

As a result, I reinstalled QuickTime for OS 8.1 and all applications related to it.

I did have to fool one of my apps through altering the Gestalt ID via ResEdit. I doubled checked this in a generic way with the Wish I Where Control Panel (I did this way back when too).

It seems to have worked. This CC runs 24/7 (thanks Chris!).

I use this 3rd CC as a PIM in our kitchen and have an �artsy� screen saver running for my most tolerate better half. I had a chance to get a nice iMac for a really cheap price but was told I have to "cool it!"

However, I did get a wireless ADB keyboard for my CCs and will see how it helps making them more productive.
