I'de look at the harness to be sure one of the contacts is not bent over touching another, or got forbid, broken and arcing. Has to be the harness. If it were only one motherboard, I'd say to check out the serial ports, as they are in series with the ADB port. ( I had to cut a modem port off of a 6200 because a moron broke it getting the plug out. The keyboard didn't work at all till I removed it. After that, It was fine.)
