Subject: TACO comments

The info about the Taco is great. Just want to thank the pioneers for initiating the difficult job of starting a tough project like this. Looking forward to all the documentation later.

_When_ I can get another CC, I plan on building a TACO instead of the Takky, also. Don't know exactly what configuration I want, but the different options are all sitting neatly in the back of my mind.

The only difference is that, being the static electricity magnet I am, I plan on plopping the logic board and any cards down on thick cardboad (or thin plywood) and trace them out. Then I'll use the templates to move around inside the CC in case I need to do my own form fitting.

I've fried logic boards in a 460 and an LCII, even while wearing an antistatic wrist strap. Don't want to do that to a Taco l/b or RAM cards.

I am also considering an old style Erector Set from a Toystore to custom build or strengthen an internal frame.

Finally, _if_ I ever get my TACO built, working, and documented (copyrighted?)for the forum, I will clearly state that anyone (attn: Smith Family guys) using any propietary stuff that I came up with FOR PROFIT will face legal action. Maybe we all should put up some warning like this on our websites or FAQ's etc.

I think the Takky pioneers just said something like, "Please don't do this for profit." Ours should say something like, "Do this for profit, and IT WILL COST YOU DEARLY" or something to that effect.

It is very sad to see the good intentions, hard work and a lot of money from many good people getting stolen and used for profit without even a mention of where the info came from or compensation to its owners.

Sorry for the long post....Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

bertie
