Subject: changing memory access speeds

Is it possible to change the memory access speed after installing faster ns memory than the 575 was designed for? The 575 series were designed for 80ns memory. From reading elsewheres this should be operating at 11-12Mhz causing 2 to 3 wait states of the cpu. If you have a 68040 cpu clocked at 40Mhz. and used the 50ns ram simms which operate at 20Mhz. is it possible to change the access speed to the new faster memory creating only one wait state? Seems like this would be a decent mod. if it's possible.
