Nah, you don't want those. They're passive matrix and an off-brand to boot. Keep an eye on this space, though, because Stuart, JW Musgrove, and myself are all working on LCD-based CCs that include an 8.4" Sharp display and the Digital View 1024AC controller. (We got the screens on eBay for about $5 more than that, and they're far nicer screens than the ones you pointed out.)

Backlights are almost always high-voltage AC, usually something in the neighbourhood of 400V or so.
