Subject: Mystic upgrade and weird video/smells!

I recently upgraded my Color Classic using a Perform 578 motherboard and now my Color Classic is performing VERY strangely. First, it will no longer accept the original motherboard and if it does, it makes erratic, staticky sounds from startup on while displaying no picture. Second, with the Performa board installed, the machine makes proper sound but the video is badly distorted. It is barreled inward, stretched too far vertically, and has several red, blue, and green lines in it. The controls have had no effect. Also, it sometimes will not start, citing a bus error. And most alarming, is that it has emitted a strange, melting plastic smell on the last two starts. What can I do?
