I just installed MAC OS 7.5.3 and it worked perfectly. The download from the Apple ftp site was 19 separate 1.4 meg images but it became 1 installer.
In order to test the installer, I tried to install it onto a SCSI external drive from my 5400 but the installer would have nothing to do with that. It would only install on a 68K based system.
So I next did the install from one of my external hd's to another when these SCSI drives were booted up from my CC. Then I booted up the CC from the external hd with the new OS on it and that worked. Finally I did a clean install on my CC from an externally booted system and my cc is now purring on MAC OS 7.5.3. Time soon for an upgrade to 7.6 but by following the same install path.
TED
