I finally achieved success in installing 7.6.1 on my CC. I did it by first installing it from 1 external SCSI HD to another where those 2 externals were hooked up to the cc. (In my previous attempt, I used my 5400 with the 2 externals and tried to create a bootable 7.6 which should have been able to boot my CC but couldn't. The lesson learned is that it matters what system the externals were attached to: one was a power PC, the other a 68X) In all instances I installed from 1 external to the other to see if one of them could then boot up the CC before tryng to clean install on the CC. I know that it is time consuming but this is the only way to ensure that it will work on the CC. Because if you directly install the OS on the CC and it fails, and if you don't have an emergency disk, then how will you ever boot up the internal drive? Now that 7.6.1 works, is there another later version of OS 7.X or is 8.0 the next target? Is it reachable with a 575 CC or should one stay with 7.6.1?
