Use a laptop drive... (Know what type of connector it has before you buy it.)

Panasonic made a slot load laptop drive. I have one, but I have no adapter for it. I opted to use the adapter for a different cd drive.

The 8x CD from an IBM thinkpad 385 has a standard pinout, but it points up, not back. You could probably get away with using it, as long as you cut a clearance hole behind your floppy for the laptop IDE to standard IDE adapter. (I have one of these drives too.)

If you want the drive, and an adapter, e-mail me an offer. It's Black, keep that in mind.

To the guy who still never got the network card and 32 meg simm I promised.. sorry, I have been out of town for the last two weeks.. can you send your address again??
