The 520's CD face plate was for a caddy drive, for sure. The 550's I have were all CD-less, so I'm not sure which they may have had.
All of the 500 series AIOs could swap face plates, so you may very well have had a 575 with a 520 caddy load face plate. The face plates are very easy to ruin -Jack's lucky that "a little twisting and turning" with a screw driver didn't pop all the plastic retaining tabs off his face plate- so face plate swapping happens all the time.
