Subject: iMac slot-loading drive for PCC

Dear all

I have been wondering if it is possible to place an iMac slot-loading drive into a Power Colour Classic. The idea would be to place it below the plastic partition separating the drives and the logic board.

The beauty of this is that CD access would be through a slot in the front of the face of the PCC, about mid-way through the apple logo. This is neater than a tray that requires cutting a large chunk out of the face.

This is similar in principle to the existing CD in PCC projects, but would leave the floppy in place. So I have a few questions:

Is the IDE interface in the PCC compatible with an ATAPI iMac drive?

The gap between the logic board and the plastic partition seems large enough, but has anyone else tried to check this?

Would the standard Apple CD extension work?
