Hello,
I can't tell you what your screen flicker is but I have a CC that did the same thing more or less while under a High Res Mod, I changed it to the VGA mod. and it symptoms seem to have gone away. I also have a SE/30 that does the same thing. I have looked pretty carefully for cold solder joints and re soldered several areas just to be sure.
I guess I really want to ask a relevant question so whoever answers LC's question can answer mine too, so here it is:

I worked for several years at a film/video lab, we had 3 Rank Cintel telecine systems for film to tape Xfers. We were using Sony 19" Color Ref. monitors that cost around $5000. each. These monitors were always on though were "greyed" when not in use. Everytime one would start to have flickers/flashing/color shifts or weird twitches our Engineer would usually perform the same repairs, replace Caps. It seems the Electrolitic (SP?) Caps "dry out" ( the heat from the HV section would dry up the goop in the caps) after several years on those Sony's high voltage power supplies and as they do the HV drops, finally to the point that the syptoms force a repair. Our Engineer would replace all the relevant Electrolitic caps with similiar spec. aftermarket ones (likely replacing power resistors too ?) and realign the thing and it would be fine for several more years.
Should a similiar preventitive Cap replacement be done on some of the Color Classics Analog Boards? I would think this might prevent and/or remove some of the syptoms and problems these display's have. It would avoid more costly problems in the (near?) future too I would think.
Does anyone have good engineering advice on this? I also wonder if replacing these HV section Electrolytic caps would cause the need for a more radical alignment and adjustment procedure than many of us would be capable of without training, scopes, etc.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to throw this out there for some feedback. Thanks, Harry
