Well I'll be @#$&#...thanks for digging up a concrete answer to this. My misinformation was accumulated over years from various memory vendors (including MacGurus). Many apologies if anyone acted on my words. Now what am I going to do with this 128mb dimm?

Fascinating reading...though I still have some lingering quesions (nothing arguementative).

- why is 4k memory cut in half? Is it a coinsidence that no 4k dimms are natively addressable in a 12/9 mode? If so, why bother supporting 4k refresh?

- where can one find a riser for these things? I scoured the web, but could only find references to a dimm-rambus riser. :)

Incidentally, the board didn't post this message in my first attempt. what's the deal?
