Set the Energy Saver to turn the monitor off after a period of inactivity (like 10 minutes). That'll cut down a lot. Spinning down the HD will help too but you might have to resort to shareware like Sleeper to do it.

The CC's power supply rating is a maximum. That usually means it doesn't draw that much all the time, but that it can if it needs to. My guess would be that with the monitor off and the HD spun down, the LC575 board itself probably consumes under 20 watts. Add another 50% for miscellaneous overhead and you're looking at about 30W or so while idle. Add about 10W for the hard disk if that's going to be spinning.

The best thing to do would be to find a friend with the equipment to measure power draw and just hook up the CC and find out :)
