Yeah, well, I don't think K knows they teach the class either :) (There's a lot of stuff that the folks running things there don't seem to realise, but I digress. They don't actually teach any classes like this, though. Liberal arts doesn't seem to be compatible with creative computer modification...)

If you're careful, those metal edges stay down near the plastic and aren't too sharp, but yes, you raise a very valid point: carelessness can get your fingers sliced up royally on those cut metal bits. I actually had more of a problem burning myself on molten plastic, but that's just me :) (It breaks off better if you let it cool and harden anyway.)

Then again, you'd think common sense would dictate people not put their fingers near cut metal edges, but these are computers we're talking about here. People seem to think common sense doesn't apply ;)

Whether or not that metal really matters much for RFI/EMF shielding is debatable; I don't have the necessary test equipment (or the know-how) to measure the difference.

As Stuart said, referring to the use of a 63x panel instead, when I pointed out it has no metal inside it to block the RFI/EMF, "It [the plastic panel] is probably better than the gaping hole that's there now."

Not that you'll probably be messing around much on the back of that panel once you get it made anyway...
