If that is the case, I really don't understand why nowadays manufacturer
makes such incompatible parts looks like compatible and create a trap
for the end users. I mean the original 72pin RAM modules spec defines
clearly which pins are for address lines, which for data, ... for power
and the power was assume 5V. Then, if they want to use 3.3V, they should
start with another profile, such that the end user won't burnt there
IC.

Just like the plugs and sockets inside the Mac, you won't be able
to burn it by accidentally swap the socket, or reverse the direction,
because the physical design will avoid you from the trouble.
