The assante cards I was trying to use were LCPDS, I wasn't aware of conflicts with drivers at the time, but I bought them new so I assumed the installer that came with the card would suffice. As I said, I never got them to work.

I tried 3 different Assante cards on at least 4 5xx series machines running flavors of System 7 (7.1 on the 030s and 7.5.3 on the 040s mostly). Appletalk was the networking software or Ethertalk, but I never got far enough in the install process to actually use any software with the cards.

I assumed at the time that there had been something wrong with the shipment of cards I got. This may be the case.

I only tried to get them to work on and off for a week or so, then shipped them back where they came from.
