I'm sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed. I honestly think you're just having a rough transition from summer vacation to the routine of school. I know it's a lot of work, but I think you will settle in again. You might think being grounded world be easier, but I remember how miserable that made you, when you couldn't see your friends. Plus, you had a more contentious relationship with your mom back then. And deep down, I know you are proud of yourself for making such progress with your school work. So, is your mom! That's why she isn't going to let you slack off again. Plus, the work isn't just too avoid the paddle. It really is effort well-spent for your future. (I really liked Shina's comment.)

Also, I might be wrong, but it kind of sounds like your mom might be trying to give you a chance to get back into your routine without a spanking. Putting the paddle under your nose and making you take off your pants was a pretty dramatic warning, but I feel like your mom from last year would have spanked first and asked questions later.

Maybe you can tell her that you didn't mean to complain so much, but you are just feeling really overwhelmed?

Despite all of that, congrats on avoiding a spanking for a good while! I've managed it too, ever since the car situation. Going back to school has been an adjustment for me too, but I feel like I'm starting to settle in again. I bet that you will too, sooner than later. And you can always complain and vent your feelings here! 😉
