Laura, thanks for sharing. I know what you mean about being scared of spankings.
I grew up in the south where kids getting spanked was common but when we moved to California I when I was 13 I felt like the only girl still punished with spankings.
I remember being so shamed and jealous when my friends would complain about being grounded. They didn't know how lucky they were! And I'd pretend to be grounded because I didn't want my friends to know I still got spanked.
I remember at 14 having a Friday school detention with two friends. The girl whined "don't bother trying to call me this weekend, they are taking my phone AWAY!" Like it was the end of the world! The boy just scoffed, "my dad don't care."

Meanwhile, I squirmed in my seat in anticipation of my mother waiting in the kitchen with the evil wooden spoon, ready to take my panties down and spank my bare bottom bright red.
Like you with your paddle - I was super scared of that spanking spoon and it was a tearful bike ride home to my fate.
