 As far back as I can remember, I got erections when I got spanked. They just happened. It also happened whenever I saw a spanking. I started realizing there was some arousal when I hit puberty and I often masturbated after. I still didn't want to get spankings but masturbating after made me feel better. Mom never said anything about the erections before or after puberty, although after a little "accident" on her lap when I was twelve, she stopped spanking me over her knee. My sister also noticed me being erect and asked me about it. She enjoyed watching my spankings as much as I enjoyed watching hers.
