Subject: Not to throw shade on feis hosts, and while I agree with your sentiment,
In reply to: 's message, "No one is obligated to host a feis. No one is obligated to go to a feis. No one is obligated to schedule a feis at a certain time of year. But if you aren’t hosting and putting in the work, you need to stop complaining. I’m thankful to every single school and every single volunteer who put the time, effort and money into giving our dancers a chance to compete." on 23:31:39 09/30/24 Mon

I feel some feis organizers fail to keep in mind that the attendees are paying customers. Given the amount of money one forks over for one day of a feis let alone times two for a double, it would go far if there were good communication and respect for people's time. My school hosts a feis and I volunteer. Conversation amongst the teachers and planners often includes consideration for the attendees. We especially try to keep in mind providing value. Sure, things happen, dancing gets behind schedule. But that's when the organizers need to communicate (social media, announcements at venue, etc) and find ways to make up time.
