Think about this. There are already 50% of the dancers who leave with no recognition for their hard work. Why would you bring that up to 75% and cut 25% more dancers who don’t get recognition, just picking up a medal like they’re in Beginner II again.

I think what you’d find is that award ceremonies are not as much fun. Shorter, yeah, but about 8 minutes per category, but the stage will only show a few.


If it’s been that long since your child was in the middle of the pack- getting the recall is important.

How would you feel if only the top five or top three were awarded onstage? Especially in this organization we’re in where those spots are bought and paid for, it’s important to recognize there are other dancers - ones who can be celebrated for their own accomplishments.


Save the elitism for Worlds. Let it just be top five there. But leave our regionals alone.
