I work as a nurse in a pediatric mental health center. At the moment my station treats 31 boys and girls between 6 and 13. As you can imagine we have quite a few patients that need diapers. I would say about half of them has wet the bed at least once during their stay and a third wets frequent enough that we have to put them in diapers. 5 of the kids need diapers full time, 3 of which suffer from encropresis, that is they also poop in the diapers. We encourage the older patients to try to put on their own diapers, but that rarely works out, so most of the kids get changed on our two changing tables that are located in the sanitary tract right next to the showers and toilets. Only the nurses are allowed to change the kids, in the evenings it can sometimes feel like assembly line work.
