Disappointing that I haven't seen many posts on the forum from other dads. I was hoping to hear more thoughts on the best way to discipline teen boys.

Thanks for setting the forum up.

Am in college now but grew up with spankings when I misbehaved. Hand spankings like the boy in that pic though with pants and underwear down. Around 11 or so dad started using a belt, same deal bare behind.

Have two younger brothers still at home and they can still get their butts whooped for acting up.

Schools paddle around here and also got swats a few times at school.

I'm 13 and I get spanked by my Dad when I misbehave.I have a younger brother who gets spanked as well.

Last time I got spanked was yesterday. Dad gave me a spanking for coming home later than my curfew.

My son earned his last spanking 2 weeks ago when he sassed his mother when she told him to compete his daily chores. He is responsible for taking out the trash, taking the dogs out to let them do their business and keeping his bedroom and bathroom clean. He gets a weekly allowance for this and it wasn’t done after several reminders from his mother. When she told him that his allowance for that week was going to be withheld, my son sassed her and that is not allowed in our home. He was sent to his bedroom and when I returned from the hardware store my wife shared the issue.

I went to his bedroom and we had a discussion about not completing his chores and him sassing his mother. He was told to get the belt which lives on a hook in his closet and it was retrieved and handed to me. He lowered his shorts and undershorts and bent over the footboard of his bed and his bare butt was struck 20 times. Afterwards, he was allowed to raise his clothes and quickly apologize to his mother and complete his chores.

I’m the father of a 13 year old son and I read and hear about kids being ill mannered to their parents and to teachers and I can only think that they have little or no discipline in their lives.

I grew up in the Midwest and my father had no issue taking a leather belt to my bare butt or that of my older brother.

My son is still spanked and his spankings hurt but they enforce the need for best behavior and he is generally well behaved.
