I largely agree with you, but I don't think that DD is tied to a specific age range.
There may be better ways of disciplining boys after puberty, but diaper punishment is very effective for girls from 12 upwards. My eldest is 14 and is always put in diapers at night and during the day whenever I think it is necessary and appropriate. It prevents some of the problems that are usually encountered at that age from arising in the first place, and the girls are very doable. But it is true that the environment has to be right and it works much better when related children are still wearing diapers and it is just part of the process.
