Subject: Backcourt Options - Shorten the Rotation

With Bell out for 2+ weeks, what are the options for the backcourt????? IMO, there are 3 options..... but only 2 acceptable ones in my book.

1. Tighten the Rotation - we really need only 3 guards to play. It will give them more PT and might give the team more consistency. I don't mind seeing more of the Todd/Goode backcourt. Todd-32mpg, Goode-24, Kudjo-24.

2. Stay with the man rotation but if we need to go to a fourth for 5-10 minutes because of fouls, injury or fatigue, I would give Paul Brown a shot..... remember he might be one of the best shoooters on this team.

3. Use Delfico or Maxwell at guard. I think this is a last resort and IMO, an unacceptable solution right now. It might be OK for a coulpe of minutes, BUT both of these are not guards. They will make our team slower, and our ballhandling and defense would not be as good..... all the things that our currently making this team successfull.

If we go to Option 3 for extented minutes, I believe we will revert back to the style of play that we have seen over the past years. I am a big TOT supporter, but I beleive that his bigggest mistake over the years is playing players that are Non-Guards in the guard position, or playing Non-PG's at the PG position. I hope that we have learned to apprecciate that we need "real" guards to play the backcourt, if we want to win..... its the blueprint for success for MAAC teams and Mids Majors in general.

I don't normally look backwards, but I still have visions of Price, Galvanoni, and Clark at PG. And shooting guards of Spann, Rivers, Ajou, Delfico, Walsh, and even Jermaine Clark. IMO, Clark would have been a much better SF.

Lets hope TOT makes the right decision..... shorten the rotation in the backcourt

This is now the time for Sogadazi to start pulling his game together. He has been playing a little better recently, but he will now get a full shot and needs to make the most of it.

Sogadzi is not the option for more minutes. Todd will be pushed to play 40, and Goode will pick up some time. Does any body know the status of Todd's ankle? We could be short on guards tonight.

If, in fact, we will be in control of the Loyola game, IMO, we need to get Paul Brown some time when the game is meaningful. Three guards is just not enough.

Boogles the mind, thinking back to last year when we had TWO guards and both freshmen. Maybe Dewitt could pitch in if he were a junior or senior, but now he is not a Div I 2G and Delfico, as hard as he tries, was never one. No knock on either of these guys.

I agree completely, Paul is ready to go and I think he can be a major help. Even after Bell returns.
