Subject: CT Post and Questions

CT Post story says Todd's ankle is still bothering him..... and Todds game is tottally based on his quickness and quick cuts. He played 24 minutes, so I hope he just has a twisted ankle, and its not severly sprained. Oscar sat out 2 games with an his ankle problem. Some Questions:

- How did Ajou look???? Better movement????

- How come Robbie only played 11 minutes..... somone said foul trouble, but he only had 3 fouls????

- From adding up the minutes is looks like Max alternated PT with Delfico at SF..... does that mean Max was playing on the outside?????? IMO, Max needs to be closer to the hoop to get him started, before he ventures outside.

Last night both Maxwell and Ajou saw time at the three. Maxwell played three almost the whole time he was in there. At one point Deng, Gai and Thompson were on the floor together. Personally I like to see Ajou at the three, although few people agree with me. He can defend the perimeter and he is the highest percentage three point shooter on the team. Even though Nick had a great game, with Bell out for a while, someone else needs to play the three and I personally would prefer to see Ajou in that spot and let Maxwell continue to play the four where he is more comfortable.

Unfortunately, Ajou still looked hampered by the foot injury. He just can't run full tilt.

If I remember correctly, Robbie had a couple of early first-half fouls that forced him to sit. When things went so well in the second half, I guess Tim elected to go with the hot hand: Garcia.

Maxwell looked lost at the three. I agree: He needs to be near the basket, scoring garbage points.

Great job last night. It really looked like a team effort, you saw everyone touching the ball. Ajou is still not 100% on that ankle. A couple of times he was on the floor it looked like he was limping. I don't think foul trouble was the reason Robbie sat. Besides the game against Yale he has been suffering this season. He can't handle the ball properly and he just looks lost out there. I don't know if it is a confidence issue or what, but Thomson can be a good player. Garcia is really getting into a zone down in the post. I liked seeing him play aggressive defense last night. If they keep feeding it to him in the post he will produce. He also had a couple of nice 15 footers vs LC and Yale. I think he can really open the floor up. Goode proved that he belongs in a mid-major program last night. His defensive abilities and keen passes make him a huge threat. He played smart last night. He knows he doesn't have the height to go straight to the basket so he passes out, which is something he didn't do last year. Delfico showed a few people that he can produce. I believe that it was the unselfish play of the team that led them to their victory. This is something we haven't seen from the FU basketball program in a while. Go STAGS.

Doesn't sound good for Ajou. Anyone know what the real prognosis is? Can he fully recover before season's end? As I said, we may have already seen his best games.

Ajou will ge a factor before the season is finished. He's shown progression in every game. Maybe he won't be the Ajou who averaged 15 points or whatever last season, but he'll help the team. He's one breakout game away from everybody saying he's back.

I couldn't agree more. That is unless he plays one more game, stops at 5, petitions the NCAA for a medical red-shirt - if he gets it (which might prove tough) he has next year and a FF MBA. I'm sure he's been considering his options.

Here's my opinion. Ajou's highest priority should be to get his MBA. If that means discontinuing playing this season and not being able to play next year as well, then so be it. We are talking about his future here and throwing a basketball through a hoop is only a small part of that future. If he quits the MBA program this year in order to play professionally next year, there is almost no chance that he will ever finish that degree and that would be a shame.

RM, good point on getting an MBA.

The other factor is that it is not a slam dunk that Ajou would get another year by the NCAA. What I hear, is that from the Injury perspective, the NCAA has granted a lot of exceptions...... But when you look at players that had a transfer year, the NCAA has not been so lenient.
