Subject: I know I'm getting ahead of myself but . . .

I can't find anywhere the new rotation this year for the MAAC tournament. I recall there being a new set-up to try to ensure the top seed getting in the NCAA tourney, thus decreasing the chance of getting in the "play in game" like last year for the MAAC.

I recall the #1 getting a buy to the semi-final or something like that. Does anyone know what the format will be?

Not jinxing the Stags, just curious at what's at stake during conference play.

on Friday
#5 vs #10
#6 vs #9
#7 vs #8

On Saturday the 3 winners on Friday face
#2
#3
#4

On Sunday the 3 winners are in the semis with the #1 seed.

So the #1 seed gets 2 byes, #2-#4 gets 1 bye, and #5-10 have to win 4 games to win the Tourney. #1 seed would be great, finishing in the Top 4 has to be the Goal.

That the Stags are 7-2 against the teams they should be competitive against.

Discounting the losses against Duke (RPI #4), Depaul (#38) and St Johns (#79) as games that were unlikely to result in victories, though it hasn't been pretty, the Stags are getting the job done. They've got wins over Yale (#74), UNCW (#86), and Iona (who beat UNC). Might be pie in the sky, but if they can continue their current pace and win 75% from here on out against MAAC-level competition, they can finish around 18-9 or 19-8. Anything less than 16 wins going into the tourney would be disappointing.

I know. I shouldn't be saying this and it is foolish to dream, but when is the last time we could even think such thoughts? Kind of like the lottery. You know you're not going to win, but then again... Start warming up the bandwagon. A couple of more wins and some folks are going to be jumping on. Dare to dream.
