Subject: we are the enemy

most of the problems this program has is magnified on this board. you may all think it is harmless fun,but alot of different people are reading it. mcleod and old man macc have and continue to influence playere. why? neither one should have anything to do with this program. this was a good year. nit, young players, good, caring, honest, coaches,wh eres the problem? you are on the verge of building something great,so leave it alone.with the exception of joe stag, most of you just stir the negative pot. that is no way to build winners. make no mistake, those two kids mos and mvs coming in next year are. lets hope they dont change their mind. think postive,go stags.

You are so right in your post above - all these negative posters focus on nothing but the worst-case scenarios in every single aspect of this program - perhaps it is because so many years of losing has worn them down to the point of not believing it when something good comes their way...
But more likely is that these posters have hidden agendas and ulterior motives for their comments.. it is patently obvious when you read their rhetoric...

Gia is Overrated right now - and would make a tremendous mistake by leaving FU.. but if he does, you regroup and recruit and move on .. Gai is not FU Basketball - and his disappearing acts at Duke and Manhattan prove that he does not have what it takes to dominate in a big program - and that is not the fault of the program, the coaching staff, or the offense.. it is called hard work and talent...

stop bashing and focus on the promise and positive potential of this program... instead of constantly attempting to sabotage the program for your own personal reasons!!

The only mistake TOT made this year was hiring the unstable and unethical McCleod. Let's hope Deng Gai is a young man of honor; otherwise, move on. The integrity of the university and basketball program matter most.

Jim Brown, Pat Burke, Daryl Strickland, Phil Rogers, John Tice and a dozen more, gone early----
The program moves on.

Hey 76er, Pat Burke didn't leave Fairfield, he died in an unfortunate accident his senior year.

Add perhaps the best of the bunch -- Owen Mahorn. He could've been something special.

Also Jim Brown left school after his junior year for military service and then returned to play and to graduate. As a sidelight, Brown and Burke(both sixties players), in my estimation, are two of the top ten players ever to wear a Fairfield uniform.

I am wondering what you believe our hidden agendas that exist on this board, or even more rediculous, ulterior motives. You are bashing Gai (Not Gia) above - not for his actions but for his ability - and yet in the same message, complain about bashing? I can tell you from being a constant poster on this board, I post what I feel based on what I see at the games. No other motive "makes" me be negative, at certain times. "It is patently obvious when you read their rhetoric..."? What kind of BS is this? I 'd love to engage in a debate with you about your beliefs and criticism of the functionality of this board!

Excuse this "trouble making" board for expressing their opinion. Despite the countless losing seasons I think FF's Bball program is just peachy. It was nice to have Deng Gai for two years, we wish him luck. Coach Macloud, thanks for your help. Sorry things didn't work out. Who am I to be critical? So what if a plunk down hundreds of dollars each year (tickets, travel, concessions, parking,etc...). I wish there was more I could do for the team. Maybe if I'm nicer we will win more. Sorry for having an opinion. Sorry for pointing out a poor performance or two. I'm just a fan. What do I know? I'm expendable and insignificant. I'm sure there are hundreds of people waiting to get there hands on my seats.
