Subject: Gai & NIT

Gai says he's staying, good news for us & him. In Dave Magirty's column in College Insider he picks the Stags as one of the teams that should be a lock for an NIT bid.

The only fly in the ointment is the Stag basher post below hinting that TOT may leave. If he does I say good luck & God speed. Coaches are adime a dozen. If Siena & Manhattan can lose coaches & continue to win so can we. If TOT does leave he better develop a thicker skin. Major Div.1 programs won't be as patient as his alma mater has been.

Why would any coach want to stay or come to FU?

There are many low-rent creeps wearing teflon suits and sporting $75 hairdos who patrol the sidelines in college basketball these days, but TOT does not fit that mold. My impression of him is that he is an individual with character who has his priorities in order. On friday he explained to Gai the importance of his remaining at Fairfield and received a commitment from him. Would TOT bolt after doing that? I would be astounded and disappointed if he did.
