Of the Buonguoro recruits there were some good players. In my mind Troy Bradford, Drew Henderson, Scott Styulek, Craig Martin and Kevin George were good ballplayers. The problem was we gave too many scholarships to guys that had no business playing at a division I level. In 6 years of recruiting he only fielded 5 true division I ballplayers. And I'm not even ready to give him too much credit for attracking all of those five as Bradford and George had connections to Fairfield.

Some would argue that Brantley and Johnnie Jones were also good recruits. But Brantley was taken over a west haven phenom who wanted to go to Fairfield and settled for his second choice Manhatten. That player went on to be an all Maac selection multiple years. I loved the work ethic and heart shown by Johnnie Jones, but he did not possess the talent level I would expect in a top recruite.

Buonguoro was a real family man who I think would be a great assist for some program. But I think he did not have the right recruiting mindset or philosophy to be successful. I like Mitch and have found memories of hanging out with him in 1985 and 1986. I wish him nothing but the best...

Ghostman - is this information readily available or just your great memory. I'd love to get the list of recruits for the last x years, plus stats?
