Subject: Bye Bye Bonnies?

Rumor has it that St Bonaventure will get tossed from the A-10 for the fiasco over players quitting in defense of the kid with the welding certificate. It will be interesting to see if the MAAC shows any interest in bringing those guys in. I'm sure Canisius and Niagara would love to have them, but the circumstances have to make the MAAC think twice about it.

What about the Stags joining the A-10, that will bring in top notch recruits.

The Bonnies aren't going anywhere; cooler heads will ultimately prevail. Stags are not ready for the A-10; consider what has been happening to Fordham and LaSalle.

I don't think the Stags belong in the A-10.

But it will be interesting to see what happens to the Bonnies. The team simply quit. The administration backed up their quitting. They admitted a kid who didn't have the credentials to get in which likely means probation. The President's son is an assistant basketball coach. The school is in a backwater location and garners none of the media that conferences so desire.

This should be an interesting story. Would the A-10 swap upstate New York programs with the MAAC (i.e. Siena goes to A-10?)

I would think that Siena would be the most likely candidate to make the move since it is a good program with a substantial fan base and a nice arena where it can play.
Would the Bonnies be considered for potential inclusion in the Maac? I don't think so. Would you want a bandit school which leaves another conference under ignominious circumstances to be granted admission to your league? I doubt that the Maac would allow it.
