Arrived home nearly 3 AM after watching us dismantle a strong Siena squad. The STAGS did a great job last night. TOT had them well prepared and they played with a purpose. I believe that if we go into tonight's game with the same sense of resolve, that we shall prevail. The real key to the game was how we protected the ball so well, with something like 4 turnovers, unprecedented for this year. We were able to neutralize Haddix inside with just a handful of points. Siena was not able to get those O rebounds and putbacks like they did in the Arena and in last years tourney game. They did not "out physical" us this time!

As far as Trenton is concerned, let's hope we don't have to revisit there again. The city is too far away from the nexus of the MAAC and is in worse shape than Bridgeport. The SBA, while only about a decade old, gives one the impression of being older, and the drab green chair colors is downright depressing. Who was its interior decorator? Harbor yard will never seem as old as SBA.

Fairfield's hosting a reception was very nice on both nights, and the wings were excellent. It was nice to meet a number of people there, including the Bells.

If we don't beat MC tonight, let's see if we'll not only be getting an NIT bid, but hosting at least a first round game at home as well (as predicted). We may get that 7K yet! Win or lose tonight, it turned out to be a much better year than most of us predicted, and should go at least one more game. 20 wins or bust!

Looks like the MAAC tourney structure worked out as perhaps planned, with only the top 4 teams making the semis, and the top 2 in the finals. At least, we won't be sending a weaker team to represent us in the NCAA this time. Either team would have at least a fighting chance and get a 12-14 seeding. Gai may actually surprise whoever we may play. As I see in a post below, I was one who was hoping to play MC as opposed to Niagara, who I did not feel we matched up well against, especially with Reaves and Mendez inside. They did a hell of a job last night against MC in 2OT's, and almost pulled off the upset. I think I was right, and I'm liking our chances again tonight in a very close game. Let's send Gonzo off to Pittsburg (?) and a 500-600K job (heard that from MC fans) knowing that he won only one tourney game and did not bring home the championship. It was nice to see him after defeating Niagara talking to and hugging some very dejected players rather than celebrating with his team.

Tonight's the night. Cut down those nets. Let's dance. GO STAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stags RPI is at #81. Let's hope that means the Stags will get another game, win or lose.

Good to meet you, STAGAL, as well as some other posters. I was nervous that the Stags wouldn't be ready. They proved me wrong. Great defensive intensity and the offensive execution was there too.

Successful season whatever happens tonight.

Menzies, nice to meet you. Stagman, were you at the receptions? Either we didn't meet, or didn't catch your name. Will be rooting for Mike, Iowa!
