Remember one thing about TOT. He is a "system" coach vs. an "instinct" coach. On the major level, you can win a lot of games because of the talent that you can bring in. However, you will never win the big one and you will lose to teams you are supposed to beat. A perfect example of a system coach on the major level is Roy Williams of Kansas. Being a system coach on the mid-major level is very shaky. And when your system involves playing 10 people, always playing pressure defense and not knowing the first thing about a zone defense and how to play it, you are in big trouble. An instinct coach knows who his money players are and rides them to the finish line. An instinct coach would never, and I repeat never, break up a combination that is clicking during a game. A system coach breaks up a hot combination all the time. Why look at every opponent differently and exploit their weaknesses? Why think and use your brains when you can always use your SYSTEM. Good coaches adapt and change their style every game, if necessary. Good coaches play their best players most of the minutes. I've said this numerous times, playing time is not a right. Half of our turnover problems, and we do have a serious turnover problem, are due to our offensive philosophy of forcing the ball into the post when there is nothing there and constantly shuffling players in and out thus killing any chance of developing a flow or consistency.Tim, your system doesn't work. You must become an instinct coach and adapt. If you don't, your team and we the fans, will always be "short changed".

This is the worst coach in the MAAC. The guy simply has no understanding of game strategy and substitution. I've been saying for years, the guy is a disaster, consistently is outcoached. We have the talent, unfortunately we have a guy that has no idea how to blend into a formidable force on the floor. Sadly, we have enough wins for Doris to justify his rehire. UGH!!!! I give up.
