Subject: Women should make the RIGHT decision
In reply to: Stagman 's message, "Unequal Treatment?" on 08:38:49 02/28/03 Fri

You can't tell women what to do. They have to make up their own mind :) Coach Nolan needs to listen to Thais Celeberto, and listen to her Fans..... like STAGAL.

Women should make the RIGHT decision.... I think they will.

It's not about unequal treatment, it's about playing before 200 or fewer people in an arena meant for 9K. It's about avoiding embarassment. Have you ever attended such games there? When/if the women improve and begin to draw larger crowds, or are playing a major opponent/weekend doubleheader, then they could move game to Bpt.

The logical pursuit is to allow the "market forces" to prevail. Regretably, we are in a politically correct environment which harms all, especially the women, who they blindly presume to speak for.

I probably one of the bigger women's team fans on this board. I am fine with most women's games at Alumni Hall and some at the Arena.

As a fan, the Arena is not enticing. The only real advantage is that you can have a beer. Its expensive and cold. The atmosphere, even for the men, is not there yet (ever?). Expensive, lousy food served by incompetents. Its a nice new facility that on the face of it evidently impresses recruits. Are they really impressed when it is 1/4 filled? Wouldn't the recruits start to realize the potential of the Arena isn't happening.

It would be an easier decision were the university to upgrade the facility. You don't have to gut it, but Alumni Hall needs some serious work.
