Subject: Lets Go Iona...... Lets Go Iona

Manhattan plays at Iona at 4PM today, its a huge game that affects the Stags. Iona also plays at Manhattan on the last day of the season. We want Iona to win all games, cause if they do, we should win all tie-breakers. The game is on MSG and is webacasted by both schools and is going to be Sold Out. Here is my post from the Iona Board, since it is a private board, I pasted it here. What does Iona have to do to win????

Your game with Manhattan is a huge game for the Stags, and we will be watching/listening closely. If Iona wins, Fairfield will be tied in the loss column with Manhattan, and the Stags will win many of the tie breakers, especially if the Gaels can finish strong and end in 3rd. In effect if you guys win, Stags we almost be in a position to control their own destiny.

I have seen Manhattan 4 times this year and twice vs the Stags, and I think the key is defending Flores the right way, cause he is a great player. He had 44 and 27 against us, but I think you HAVE TO keep him off the foul line... and he knows how to draw fouls in every key possession, so its a must. Secondly, Flores is a good 3-point shooter..... but not great like the rest of his game. If you give him anything, give him the 3, and Don't foul.

The matchup on him will be important. In his 44 point game, we used mostly our guards, with a little Delfico and Maxwell.... we fouled him too much, especially when he took it to the hoop. In the Last game, Delfico played him for most of the game, played him solid, tried to deny him the ball, and had the composure to NOT Foul him. He made him work for every shot, and let the team defense help. In the Final 10 minutes, Dewitt Maxwell also "D" him up, his long arms bothered Flores and Max even blocked his shot on a key possession on a patented Flores move.

Maybe the SF have a better chance on guarding him, and Konovolchick was not able to take advantage of a guard on him.

Who do you see from Iona covering Flores????? Soliver seems to have the Height, Long arms, and quickness to maybe do a good job..... but does he have the Defense and the composure to not foul?????
