I thought I would never say it, but Ajou Deng needs to be sitting. I do feel bad for him because he no where near the player he was last year. No guard production was our biggest problem last night, and if Sogadzi didn't save us against Canisius we might have lost that one too. Bell looked quick defensively, but did not shoot with confidence. We need him healthy.

I would also vote for more speed on this team, but if thats the case, Delfico might be spending more time on the bench. Tim, needs to right this ship because its going in the wrong direction.

I used to post on the old Rivals board, but I just found out about this board.

Fairfield's strategy yesterday was to work the ball inside and try to get some fouls on Reaves, Mendez and Darden, forcing Niagara to use its mediocre bench. Didn't work, obviously, and probably won't work next time, either. On Feb. 22, the guards will need to hit their shots, which, in theory, will open up the lane, leading to an offensive smorgasbord and lots of points. In theory.

I agree about Ajou—he's hurting us right now. He should get the chance to push it against Rider, St. Peter's and Loyola, but I'm not optimistic he'll find the groove in time to help us in March. What a shame. After everything he went through to come to Fairfield, he deserved a better senior year.

Bell, however, is another story. I don't think he'll be 100% until next November, but he did show quickness yesterday. If he finds his shot, he will help.
