Nice article on Delfico and Garcia in the CT Post stating that they are the glue that holds this team together. Garcia obviously plays with emotion, and the younger guys feed off that. I'm glad to hear that Nick has been taking the role of calming the troops down, not letting them get too down after a loss, or too up after a win. With a young team like this, they definitely need someone like Nick to keep them focused.

I am very impressed with the leadership that both Delfico and Garcia are providing this year. At the Open Practice I attended in October I expected to see Delfico as a leader, but I was also very surprised how Oscar was a vocal leader. Delfico has worked hard for his 4 years, but garcia has made a big turnaround this year.... they are both focused and serious.

I think you can add Tyquan Goode to the list of leader on this current team, and even though he would only be a junior next year, he would get my vote for next years captain. Leadership starts with Defense.

To be a good team you need more than 1-2 leaders, and I think we got that now and are setup for the next few years. Not to dwell on the past but leadership on past teams were few and far between.

In the honors dept., what are either Delfico's or Garcia's chances of getting to 1000 career points? I didn't get a media guide this year.

Delfico had only 470 points coming into this year, and he is the highest. He has to average 17ppg to come close to 1000.

Logan has an outside chance with 633 points. He would have to average around 13ppg next year.

In looking at the Media Guide, if you exclude the freshman, Deng Gai looks like he only player who is well on track for 1000 points. Kudjo and Logan both have a shot but neither is average 250 per season. Ajou, Thompson, Garcia, Delficco, Goode and Fellecia are way off the pace for various reasons. This team has balanced scoring and we don't have a Tony George, Joe DeSantis, Troy Bradford, or Greg Francis carrying the majority of the scoring load.
