to Manhattan!!!
Just so some of the faithful don't think I'm totally crazy, I wanted to point some info. out to backup my statement that if FF wins, the regular season chase for 1st is OVER.
Here goes, FF would have 10 left, 6 at home, and 4 road games at Manhattan, Niagara, Loyola and St. Petes. With a win, they would be 2 up on Manhattan, and worse case looking at a 7-3 finish, worst case. They would finish 15-3 in the league.
Manhattan would still have road games at Iona, Siena, Niagara, Canisius, and Loyola. They would be looking at a very, very longshot to finish 15-3. Hence my feeling that this game is of utmost importance to the Jaspers if they have ideas of finishing 1st. They have had a softer conf. schedule so far˙

This game is important for many reasons. Right now only Fairfield and Manhattan control their own destiny to finish first. If Stags win tonight, then Manhattan does NOT control their own destiny...... something that works on someone psychy when you lose control...... IMO you do not focus on the game ahead or "1 game at a time"..... you do some scoreboard watching. Thats why is important to Manhattan.

It is also a huge game for Fairfield from the perspective of winning back Fairfield fans, students, and getting new fans. A win tonight against a quality league opponent vying for 1st place is what College Hoops is about, and a win tonight would build credibility with the fans, and springboard the attendance for the rest of the season. If Fairfield wins tonight, the Fans will leave the Arena saying "WE Won"...... the emphasis on the word "WE"....... rather than the fans just saying "the Stags won" after a normal victory over a Loyola type team. ....... that difference would be HUGE.

Ron Perry and the highly ranked Holy Cross team came to town about 25 years ago? It would be nice if we could pin a similar result on the Jaspers tonight. This is as big a regular season game as the Stags have played in a long time.

Gave 14th ranked HC a real pasting, 124-104. This game is as big to us as say UCONN playing against Duke.

This is a message game. Stags at home, undefeated and looking for respect.

As in all games, keep turnovers down, hit the glass, and make Flores work hard for every shot. The more energy he exerts on offense, can mean opportunities late on the other end of the floor. Need to continue hitting FT's late.

Manhattan won! So much for the speculation about importance of this game. It's over...and the Jaspers are on top! End of thesis......
