Subject: Congratulations Stags and Jaspers and Coach O'Toole

You guys and this game took me back to the sixties and seventies when games like this were the standard instead of the exception for Fairfield. I felt that I was in a time warp back in the Mike Branch or Joe DeSantis days. Those of you who missed this game missed a contest characterized by great individual and team play which kept the crowd roaring. The fans, the band the cheerleaders and the students were a vital elements creating an atmosphere like one I haven't seen in quite some time. Forgot the dance team and the Stag. Wish every game could be like this(with a different outcome, of course!)

What a game. Fully lived up to the expectations. This was my first time following the Jaspers to Harbor Yard and I must say I was impressed. Great atmosphere - you got the students to come out in force as well. A great performance by both teams, but Flores was unstoppable.

Two more rematches would be great for the league - this is a game that should have been televised - one of the best games I've seen in a long time.

See you in the Bronx on 2/13, and maybe in March...

GO JASPERS!

Both teams went back and forth in the first half, matching mini-runs for each team. It was amazingly tight and exciting. Did you check out the 1st half stats.... both teams shot exactly the same 19-29 (65.5%), and that was with some good defense.

But Flores continued to produce all thru the 2nd half. 5 different Stags guarded him (Kudjo, Todd, Goode, Max, Delfico). Also, Jared Johnson played a great game getting some key offensiove rebounds and put backs. He was just as much of the star of the game as Flores. We have to put a body on Johnson next game..... he is too active around the hoop.

This is what College is hoops is all about, as Manhattan also brought a good contingent of Fans (500-750??). I thought the intensity was high all game by the players and Fans.

I agree on Johnson. No one can stop a guy like Flores when he's that hot, but Johnson dominated the offensive boards and seemed to expose a weakeness. When Gai goes up for a block he loses position and, at times, Gai just didn't seem strong enough compared with Johnson. It's too bad Robbie can't seem to stay on the floor without fouling. We could have used his bulk last night.

[> Keep Slugging FU . Great show -- Merritt Traveler, 11:09:55 01/24/03 Fri

Now that game was worth every penny .
Two very solid Mid major teams going toe to toe . Enthusuiatic crowd . Good atmosphere .My group enjoyed every minute . The experience factor is always important at mid major level . I was suprised at the maturity of Todd and Maxwell in a game such as this one
I don't think I have seen a better FU performance in quite awhile despite the fact it was a lost . That guy Flores is something isn't he >
