As we have seen since JAM left, the great majority of our seasons are below, at , or slightly over .500. NU is basically around a .500 program. We may want more, but the harsh reality is that, it is what it is. I will be going into the 2024-25 season with very low expectations. I expect no better than a .500 season. It is obvious to me that for GP, it's just a stable job for him with a fair salary. GP gets the bragging rights to say that he is a D-1 level basketball coach, one of only about 335 or so that exist. The NIL/Portal has changed everything. GP is lucky to just fill out a roster in today's college basketball scene. He and his staff have to recruit like a chicken with its' head cut off, if you know what I mean. He probably would not even recruit 80% of this current roster out of HS, but he's forced to fill out a roster, so he takes what he can get ; and he and his staff have to try to forge a "team" out of this kind of mess every year.
