there should be really a documentary on niagara/canisius/buffalo braves

1. canisius having a long term deal on saturday killed the braves
2. John Hummer being drafted over Calvin Murphy ranks up there with the 49ers and Aaron Rodgers.
3. Those two things don't happen, we're probably talking this town being a basketball town and not hockey town
4. canisius and niagara probably have a huge demand and end up in the conference with bc, bonaventure, and nova

Having Calvin in Buffalo would have been great but the Big East wasn't formed until almost a decade later (1979), and while Bona had greater aspirations to join a bigger and better cast of schools (not the Big East), Niagara and Canisius sat on their hands, having neither the desire and money required. Since that meant having to play more than one sport in the conference, and the commitment and costs required were zippo, NU never considered it and nobody from any conference came knocking.

yes but moving the sabres out of aud, canisius back to campus, means braves are flourishing and we're basketball team, maybe we link up with cuse, georgetown, st bonaventure, notre dame, etc in 78 who all were independents instead we joined the hockey east conference without hockey ha

They went from being the San Diego Clippers to the LA Clippers.

I remember the Buffalo teams that featured Bob McAdoo and Ernie DiGregorio.
