Home court advantage goes to Detroit Mercy.

Purps had a 12 point lead at one time and saw it whittled away.

Detroit Mercy was 1-31 last year and is picked for last place in the Horizon league...if we can't beat UDM, who can we beat?

NU looked as if they were going to win, up 7 with 4 minutes to play, but poor defense and shot selection, along with foul trouble got Detroit back in it.
Looked as if about 200 people were in attendance.
We continue to beat on the drives through the lane and on the offensive boards.
There looks to be a good team spirit amongst the guys, but I would be surprised if they won more than 10 games.

Sunday's performance had the look of about a 10 win team, but that was just 1 game, there's a whole season in front of us.

If you can’t dunk or shoot, play defense and practice free throws. You’ll play d1 basketball. Watch the effort of our guys on offense vs defense. You can tell who tries on defense easily

I honestly think at this level of talent that we have, you won't both offense and defense, or one superior to the other, like when NU could outscore opponents under JAM or a team like St Peter's could play great defense, and deliberate offense and just end up throttling down so to speak the play of the game and end up with more points in a low scoring affair.

Brand new team under brand new (relatively) rules. Like our first year in Division I. Have to re-establish our pedigree if that makes any sense, the brand and slog ahead.

By the way, the seven kids from Duke that entered the portal ended up at Stanford, Clemson, Baylor, Virginia, Ohio State, Missouri, and Virginia Tech.
