NIagara is quickly becoming the the school of LOSERS when it comes to basketball. Not a dig, just the reality.

Niagara down to 7 healthy players. Embarrassing loss yesterday to a team Canisius just beat handily. Couldn’t watch a game that lopsided. Part of the reason Niagara has so many injuries is that they go full tilt in their pressure defense. Can’t run that defense without fresh bodies so not sure why Jada hasn’t changed her strategy with the diminished roster. Big game on Thursday with Canisius which unfortunately I am going to miss. If Niagara can’t secure a win there, their best chances for their first Division 1 win would be St Peter’s and Rider the last two games of the season. Only the top 10 teams make the playoffs in the MAAC this year. Jada is signed through the 25’-26’ season

7 healthy players? How is that possible? I haven’t seen any injury news. Are we sure they are actually injuries.
Does the coach give a post game presser to any media? I’d suspect they maybe there is more to the story

All of us feel the same way, but there is no reason to get all pissed off and shoot in all directions. NU hasn't been singled out to this fate. Let's at least try to be supportive of those who wear the colors.

How does one be supportive if there is literally no information and waypoints on how to do so? This policy of fans LAST has been going on for years. And it has lead to the point where very little people care at all.

Understanding the demographic of NU's current BBALL fan base...What happens in 10, 15, 20 years? Will attendance be in the 200's? There is not even a glimmer that anything will change or any momentum that shows NU wants to grow their program.

This is what businesses do when they know they are going out of business. A slow, wind down, no investment, no strategy, no cares. Then when their employees ask why they are going out of business they say "well its easy, no one is buying from us anymore".

The sad, sad, sad reality is that there is likely no future for NU sports at a D1 level beyond 2030 or 2035. This will all reach its, now clear, logical terminus. Literally no one in the stands, literally no media coverage, and completely invisible.

There is no other explanation for what is happening. I find it incredibly hard to believe that EVERY SINGLE person at the Ath Dept. including the coaches would want to not offer more to fans. This is a strategy.

The end is close. We are seeing the last days play out before us.

And how sad it is

I could NOT have said it any better. Niagara will get to the point where it will have to state to its' student body , as well as, to its' future academic recruiting classes that although the University recognizes the wholistic attributes of its' academic and athletic programs, it can no longer ,financially, afford, nor has there been "community" support for sports programs at Niagara.

In that manner, Niagara will get what it really wants , the end of athletics at the University with the concomitant utilization of the majority of monies going towards academics; and physical plant maintenance. All of which will be under the ruse of saving the University into perpetuity.

Well said, Count Point! Niagara basketball is dying a slow death and the administration doesn't seem to care...all of which makes me wonder - why do I ?

1.). St. Peter’s. 2022 Elite8
2.). Fairfield women 2025. NET 43 Should get an at large bid if they don’t win tourney. Remember Niagara almost beat them in MAAC championship last year.

I guess the St. Peter’s. 2022 Elite8 team is one of the carrots that keep me following Niagara basketball...we all dream that our team will have a magical year like that.
